22 TORQUE (TORQUECURVESELECTION)
ThisparameterisusedtoselectwhethertheoutputofthedrivefollowsaconstantorvariableV/Hzcurve.
The following selections are available:
CONSTANT Useforconstanttorqueapplicationstooptimizetorque.
VARIABLE Useforvariabletorqueapplicationstooptimizeenergysavings.
CT/NOCMP Useforconstanttorqueapplicationsthatrequirefulloverloadcapacityatlowspeeds
(seeParameter17-MOTOROL).
23 CARRIER (CARRIERFREQUENCY)
Thisparametersetsthecarrierfrequency,orswitchingfrequencyoftheoutputIGBT’s.Higherswitching
rates result in less audible noise to be emitted from the motor, but the efficiency of the drive decreases as
the carrierfrequencyincreases. Therefore, this parameter should be settothelowest value which yields
acceptablesoundlevels.Availablesettingsare:2.5kHz,6.0kHz,8kHz,10kHz,12kHzand14kHz.
NOTE 1:The2.5kHzcarrierfrequencysettingisavariablecarrier.Thecarrierfrequencyremainsfixedat

wouldbe2.7kHz(45Hzx60=2700Hz).
NOTE 2:Theability tooperate adriveinthequiet (highcarrier frequency)modeisdependentonthe
drive horsepower rating, driven load, drive enclosure, and the ambient temperature. At full ambient tem-
perature,operationabove8kHzrequiresderatingthedrivebymultiplyingtheoutputcurrentratingbythe

parameter menu. Operation at 14 kHz carrier frequency requires derating as shown in NOTE 2 above.
